The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission is dedicated to improving the quality of life in Charleston County by offering a diverse system of park facilities, programs, and services. The county park system presently includes over 5000 acres of land with ample facilities and activities to ensure that we have something for everyone. Our list of facilities includes: three day parks; James Island, Mt. Pleasant Palmetto Islands, and North Charleston Wannamaker; three beach parks; Folly Beach, Kiawah Island Beachwalker, and Isle of Palms; two fishing piers; Folly Beach Edwin S. Taylor and the new Mt. Pleasant pier; 19 public boat landings; Mullet Hall Equestrian Center; the Cooper River Marina; and a unique natural and cultural history preserve at Ravenel Caw Caw Interpretive Center. We are currently in the process of developing five more sites to reach people from a broader geographical area.
