One of the prize jewels in England’s crown, Charleston had a tea party, too, but instead of throwing it all into the harbor, the majority was seized and later sold to help finance the War for American Independence. Charleston was already a city of antiquity before the War Between the States. Your guide, Marianne Wichmann, mother of tour founder, Laura Wichmann Hipp, gives you a love of history, architecture, and culture as you meander through the heart of historic Charleston’s streets and hidden courtyards. The tour ends at the tiny garden of your guide’s home with tea and home made edibles. Make reservations for one tour daily, Mon through Sat at 9:30 am from 198 King St, the King’s Courtyard Inn.
