From the Editor: Winter 2010

Thank you for choosing Historic Charleston as your destination. Long walks, with stops along the way in area shops and restaurants, are the perfect pastime during our mild winter days.
Area plantations offer an opportunity to learn more about the history of our country and are a great way to spend an enjoyable day. Learn more about the history of slavery through one of the many programs offered locally. Be sure to read “Charleston and the Unholy Alliance,” before you begin your day. And, beginning in March, Middleton Place will showcase a fascinating new exhibit of jewelry worn by the Middleton family, Carolina Gold: From Rice to Riches.
Also beginning in March, the South Carolina Aquarium will have a new resident, a rare albino alligator. Be sure to pay a visit and learn more about this interesting animal.
Whether this is your first visit or an annual tradition, Charleston is the perfect spot for a relaxing vacation. Please enjoy our history, delicious food and unique attractions. And, thank you for visiting our city and we hope to see you again soon!
