Fort Dorchester S.C. Highway 642 Construction was begun during the French and Indian Wars, circa 1757–60.

Fort Moultrie 843-883-3123 Sullivan’s Island Providing 171 years of U.S. seacoast defense, this fort is the site of a Revolutionary War battle. Administered by the National Park Service. Open daily 9–5 pm; closed December 25.

Fort Sumter 843-722-1691 Office 843-883-3123 Charleston Harbor The War Between the States began here in April 1861. Administered by the National Park Service.
