From the first-time kayaker to the seasoned bass kayak angler, Topwater knows what it takes to guide you to success from whatever your starting point. Topwater launch locations vary as we chase the best action balanced with customer experience and seasonal boat traffic. Our schedule for 2023 features launch locations that access the waters of: Bulls Bay/Cape Romain Wildlife Refuge, the upper Wando River, IOP and Sullivan’s Island, the Santee River, we fish it all! Our departure launches move around Charleston County seeking the best bite each season of the year, and certainly keeps our guest’s travel needs in mind.
As a Hobie Fishing Team member, I’m proud to provide all charter guests with industry-leading, American-made Hobie Compass fishing kayaks utilizing the revolutionary Mirage pedal drive system. In addition, all fishing gear, rods, bait and tackle along with PFDs and safety gear is provided for all anglers. Children and young adults school-age and above are welcome (under 13 with a parent) is welcome to participate, no experience required. Most trips are approximately 5 hours, with full-day outings also available.

Inshore Kayak Fishing with Topwater Kayak
5-6 Hours / Redfish, Speckled Sea Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead
Explore and fish the Lowcountry by kayak. Your trip will take you through the tidal creeks, marshes, and bays from local areas including: McClellanvile, Sullivan’s Island, Mt. Pleasant, and Bulls Bay. All gear is provided including Hobie pedal-drive kayaks, safety equipment, fishing gear, bait, water, and light snacks. Anglers will meet at pre-determined launch location as arranged in advance with your guide. This trip is available year-round and targets inshore species in season. Typical catches can include: redfish, speckled seatrout, flounder, black drum, sheepshead, bonnethead shark, ladyfish. (Valid SC Saltwater Fishing License Required). Explore and fish the Lowcountry by kayak. Your trip will take you through the tidal creeks, marshes, and bays located in and around Charleston and Bulls Bay. All gear is provided including Hobie pedal-drive kayaks, safety equipment, fishing gear, bait, water, and light snacks. A cooler is available for kept catches as well as for lunches, medications, or drinks. Anglers will meet at pre-determined launch location as agreed upon by guide. This trip is available year-round and targets inshore species in season as well as half-day freshwater/half-day saltwater options. Typical catches can include: redfish, speckled seatrout, flounder, black drum, sheepshead, bonnethead shark, ladyfish. (Valid SC Saltwater Fishing License Required). Charters for 2023 will focus on the Bulls Bay and Upper Wando as well as offer al-a-carte trips to private landings.
